Popular Posts & Sharing Favorites

Yesterday we released two new site features, popular posts and the ability to share favorites. A couple of notes on the popular items...

1. Most gawked posts are the same as most clicked posts (a click on a photo/a visit to a blog).
2. Popular data is not real-time, but rather refreshed periodically throughout the day.
3. Most favorited is limited to "all-time" at this point, but we'll show "last 7 days" and "last 30 days" shortly.
4. Most gawked data collection started on August 20th, 2008. So most gawked all-time goes back only until August 2008.

The second feature is the ability to share favorites. To enable favorite sharing, go to your favorites page and click on the "make public" link. If you want to hide your favorites, just make it private. Once your favorites are public, you have access to...

1. A ShareThis link that allows you to easily share, bookmark or email your favorites page to your friends.
2. An RSS feed of your favorites, which you can share with your friends. You can also make a widget to display on your blog by building a blidget. Just enter your RSS feed link in the URL field.

Another minor fix that we made last week was to flip the display order of posts on the my submissions page. Now your latest submissions are displayed at the top of the lists.
