Welcome to Foodgawker: We’re Back! And Better than Ever.
Hello new and old gawkers, and welcome to Foodgawker!
We’ve been around for a while, but we thought it was important to re-introduce ourselves. Put simply, we’re a cozy home for delicious, high-quality recipes from food bloggers whipping up dishes across the globe.
When we originally launched in 2008, we knew we had something special. Everyday cooks came to the site to share and find recipes, creating a passionate community from kitchens all over the world. When the site went down a few years ago, we shared your frustration. Foodgawker had become a fun, frills-free space for aspiring cooks.
That’s why Foodgawker is under new ownership. Hi! We’re Kristin and Dan, longtime gawkers that wanted to bring the site back to life and make the experience even better - so you’ll notice a few changes. First, we made searching easier, and expanded our categories so you can quickly find what you’re looking for, whether it’s a fancy feast to impress the in-laws, or a quick potluck appetizer you want to bring to game night.
We’re also thrilled to announce the launch of our new blog! We wanted to create a space where we could share even more goodies, like cooking tips and tricks, new, must-have products, and more. Foodgawker will always be recipe-first, but we want to be a go-to resource for your complete cooking journey.
We know there are a lot of places to find recipes online. We also think we have our own secret sauce. So what makes Foodgawker so special?
Our recipes really do look good enough to eat for a reason. We’re a photo-first recipe site, bringing together only the best of the best recipes based on the real work behind the dish.
We don’t view recipes as, well, recipes. We look at them as the catalyst to meals that bring families together and make memories.
We’re not in it for the time crunch. Fast fixes and easy recipes will always have a place on our site (because we all get busy!), but we view cooking as a craft and find it therapeutic, so we want to share recipes that really let you ~namaste~ in the kitchen.
We’re international. We get recipes from people all over the world, so our site is like a masterfully-curated cookbook that keeps on growing.
We focus on good, old fashioned nutrition. The recipes on our site are grounded in real ingredients. We’re not interested in preservative-heavy dishes or packaged shortcuts.
We have everything. Literally. We’re the record store of food, but instead of music genres we have types of cuisine. If you crave it and want to make it, we’ve got you covered.
At Foodgawker, we’re not a big box brand pushing products or an agenda. We’re not a group of fancy chefs expecting you to cook with decades of experience. We bring real people together with real passion and real recipes cooked up in every corner of the world.
Stay tuned for more delicious recipes, fun round-ups, tips and tricks, and more.
In the meantime, get ‘gawking.
