Frozen Coffee recipe – make this for an at home pick me up! Make this at home instead of spending $5 at Starbucks. So easy and tastes like a treat!
I have been obsessed with iced coffee ever since my husband introduced me to the magical Instant Iced Coffee recipe. Although iced coffee is usually my drink of choice, every once in awhile I find myself craving something different.
This frozen coffee is the perfect drink to make when you’re craving a coffee shop frappuccino. It’s easy, cheap, and tastes amazing!
Just tried this recipe for the first time and I love it! It’s strong enough for you to feel like you’re actually drinking coffee and getting your caffeine fix, but has just enough sweetness for a yummy cold treat. Will definitely be using this again and again. – Nicki
Ingredients to make Frozen Coffee
- chilled brewed coffee
- truwhip (or coolwhip)
- chocolate syrup
- your favorite creamer
- ice
This recipe can be customized into any flavor you want! Use different kinds of brewed coffee and different flavors of creamer to change it up.
One of my favorite hacks is to use half of one creamer and half of another. Hazelnut, caramel, french vanilla, white chocolate, anything you want! You could even swap out the chocolate syrup for caramel syrup. Many times I will use half vanilla and half caramel creamer to switch up the flavors!
How to make frozen coffee
Add the chilled brewed coffee, cool whip, chocolate syrup, creamer, and ice to a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a glass and grab yourself a straw! If you are feeling fancy, add some whipped cream and drizzle some more chocolate syrup over the top.
If you keep brewed coffee in your fridge you can make this recipe in less than 5 minutes. The next time you are brewing a pot of coffee, save some in a mason jar and put it in the fridge to make this frozen coffee later!
It is perfectly sweet, without being overly sweet, and that icy frozen texture is the perfect treat for your tastebuds. Just as delicious as a Frap you would pay $5 for anywhere else.
My husband is a hot coffee drinker. When he makes his morning coffee, I just have him brew me an extra cup and stick it in a mason jar in the fridge when I want to make this frozen coffee as an afternoon pick me up.
Just pour hot coffee into a mason jar, let it cool off a few minutes in the glass, then put the lid on and put it in the fridge until chilled. Then it’s so easy to make this recipe any time I want!

Thanks Michael!
I loved your recipe as is and the last time I substituted frozen bananas for the ice. Good combination.
Great idea! I’ll have to try that 🙂
Thanks for posting this. I love blended frozen coffee, but haven’t been able to get it from my coffee shop cause of finances. I’ve been trying to make it myself and now I know what I’ve been doing wrong. I was using hot coffee instead of cold and too much ice. I’m going to try your recipe next time and see how it goes.
this is soooo good! by far the best homemade coffee recipe I’ve tried, I see it as my monthly treat! and it’s the only one that has cool whip in it and not just on it which makes it so much sweeter than just adding milk,
I found this recipe about three years ago but didn’t save it and I could never remember how much of each ingredient you use so I could never get it to taste the same, but I finally found it and am never losing it again!! thank you for sharing this tasty goodness with us!!
So glad you found it again Rachel! Thanks for the lovely comment 🙂
